Follow these steps after purchasing
Your Microsoft account has 4 key components:
- Primary email — used to sign in
- Password — never share it
- Recovery email — lets you access the account without the password
- Recovery code — used if you lose access to your recovery email

Sign In
Go to account.microsoft.com and click Sign in
Enter your primary email and click Next
Select "Send a code to your recovery email"
Enter the recovery email and click Send code
Retrieve the 6-digit code from this page — it may take a moment to arrive

Secure Your Account
Go to My Microsoft Account → Security
Click "Manage how you sign in to Microsoft"
Add your own recovery email and verify it
Remove the old recovery email
Scroll down and click "Generate new recovery code"
Store it somewhere safe and private

Change Primary Email & Password
Go to Your Info → Edit account info
Add a new email, set it as primary, then remove the old alias
Go to Security → Change password
Enter your old password and choose a strong new one
Your account is now fully secured!
